Dolphin International School, Pulwama participated in the prestigious event in commemoration of Nelson Mandela’s 101th birthday – the Mandela International Day.

Dolphin International School participates in Mandela International Day in Delhi

The event began at Bluebells International School with delegates from UNESCO and South Africa Embassy to celebrate a day in memory of the extensive life and work of Sir Nelson Mandela, said the statement.

On Thursday, the students from the school performed a traditional Kashmiri song as part of the opening ceremony for the programme. Then they listened to the message by UN Secretary-General, read by Rajiv Chandran, National Information Officer, United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan.

The students participated in an interactive session with eminent speakers including High Commissioner of South Africa, and Suhas Borker, Convener, Working Group on Alternative Strategies.

They also witnessed an exhibition of paintings by students of Bluebells School International, organised as part of ‘Taking Gandhi to Children’ series that brings children closer to the enduring legacy of Gandhi’s non-violent struggle for equity, justice, pluralism and sustainable development, said the statement.
