The Chinese incursion in Ladakh region should not be linked with tourism in Leh as the Chinese troops were very far from the town, the chief minister Omar Abdullah has said on a micro blogging site.

“Can we please not link the Chinese incursion to Tourism in the region. The Chinese troops are too far to bother any tourists coming to Leh”, Omar twitted. He also wrote, “When we use the words “Chinese troops” & “tourists” in the same sentence we create doubts where none existed.”

Pertinently some days back Omar even dared the incursion by China and asked the Union government to give a clear cut message to China adding that these kinds of situations have always put the people, living in frontier areas, under difficulties besides hampering the process of development. He said, “We would like the Central Government to take up this issue with both China and Pakistan strongly and on same terms so that no such incident takes place in future”, and added that the Union Government’s dealing on such issues should be unambiguous and similar vis-a-vis both the neighbours.
