SRINAGAR: National Conference senior leader and former minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra on Thursday has expressed serious concern over a 19% hike in passenger fare.

In a statement, Sadhotra said it is unfortunate that the common man has been overburden in this time of Covid-19when every common man is economically badly hit. Jobs have been curtailed and there is an unprecedented rise in unemployment.

He further said BJP Govt utterly failed to check frequent price rise in petroleum products and the common man has to pay for the failure of the BJP Government. Transporters were really in need of passenger fare hike but not the common man.

Sadhotra demanded that the hike in fare be subsidized so that the common man is not burdened. In the present situation, the common man is not in a position to bear this burden of a 19% passenger fare hike.
