Block Medical Officer Kunzer, Dr Muhammad Yaqub, appealed to the public not to panic, assuring them that medical teams are actively monitoring the situation. “Precautionary measures are important, and we are closely diagnosing and observing affected children,” he said, adding that it is a communicable disease.

He advised parents to remain alert and immediately report any symptoms of chickenpox in children to nearby health centres for timely treatment.

Officials of the Kunzer Municipal Committee said multiple areas have been sanitised as part of preventive measures.

Locals, however, expressed fear that the infection could spread further among children in the area. [KNT]
