SRINAGAR: In yet another such incident, 40 year old Farooq Ahmad Dedar belonging to the Gujjar Bakarwal community was allegedly beaten up by the forest department officials at Zampathri area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday wherein two females have also reportedly been injured.

“Forest department officials were on an eviction drive and without any provocation started beating up the nomads, which led to a scuffle and Farooq Ahmad was severely injured by the officials”. Tribal rights activists Choudhary Irshad Khatana told Kashmir Life.

Meanwhile, police has rushed to the spot and taken the injured to hospital for treatment .
