SRINAGAR: Ghulam Nabi Azad, the former Chief Minister and Chairman of DPAP, has reiterated his commitment to continue the political fight for the job and land rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He emphasised that his return to Jammu and Kashmir is intertwined with the social and political empowerment of the common people. If elected to power, Azad pledged to prioritise development and ensure corruption-free governance.

Azad made these statements while addressing a substantial public rally in Chiralla, Bhaderwah, marking the conclusion of his extensive 10-day tour of the Chenab Valley.

Azad engaged with numerous delegations and delivered speeches at public gatherings across the Chenab Valley throughout his visit. “My heart beats for the people of the Chenab Valley and the entire union territory. My aspiration is to work for you and guarantee your political and economic empowerment to a degree where you won’t have to plead before anyone,” he shared with his supporters.

During his meetings with various delegations, Azad was made aware of various public issues. He assured that he will take up these concerns with the appropriate authorities for resolution.

The DPAP chairman expressed his party’s strong opposition to the forceful land eviction measures implemented by the Jammu and Kashmir government. He credited his party’s protests for pressuring the government to halt the eviction drive. Azad affirmed that safeguarding the land and employment opportunities for local residents remains the core agenda of his party, and this fight will persist until guarantees are provided by the Government of India.
