DPS: 2 soldiers receive splinter injuries during mop up operations

SRINAGAR: After use of massive fire power in the Delhi Public School Athwajan, the army is taking room to room searches.

Police sources said at least three soldiers received splinter injuries, probably the grenade splinters when these were being used to clear the rooms. They have been removed out for first aid.

Security grid has not permitted the media to get closer to action. Most of the battery of the reporters is near the Silver Star Hotel, more than one kilometer away.

Reports said after the massive shelling, reportedly because of the use of mortars, there has been much of an exchange of fire. Some TV channels are reporting the killing of two militants but police said they cannot confirm it immediately.

The two LeT militants had taken refuge in the vast premises of the DPS after they mounted an attack on the QRT of the CRPF on the main road Saturday night. A CRPF was killed and another injured in the attack.
