SRINAGAR: Delhi Public School Budgam’s Sheikh Waafiq Ahmad, a 7th standard student, bagged the Best Entry Award from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) for making an Innovative Face Mask.
The award ceremony was held at Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre Srinagar on April 9, 2021 where Union Minister for Human Resource Development and Union Minister for Textiles was Smriti Irani was the Chief Guest.
Ahmad says he designed the mask which has clips and is washable and reusable.
“Wearing a mask is important but most of the times it is uncomfortable, boring and
painful for ears. So, it is an attractive colourful mask that both men and women can wear,” Ahmad said.
Meanwhile, the Department Of Art, DPS Budgam was appreciated for the guidance to the student by the Union Minister Smriti Irani.
