Accusing opposition PDP of hatching conspiracies to destabilise National Conference, senior party leader
and Minster for Higher Education Mohammad Akbar Lone has alleged that conspiracies were being hatched in New Delhi to wipe out the NC leadership.

“But NC patron and union Minster Dr Farooq Abdullah has been guarding the party against such designs by using his personal influence in New Delhi,” he revealed in public address at Pattan on Saturday. “So many people are busy in New Delhi against NC and if these elements were let free that would have wiped out the NC leadership, but Abdullah has been guarding us like a wall in New Delhi.”

Without mentioning PDP, he said that some people are out to deceive people and were hell bent in throwing the state in jeopardy.

Taking senior PDP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffer Hussain Beigh head on, Lone said that it was Baigh who was somehow instrumental in the execution of the JKLF founder Mohammad Maqbool Bhat.

“When Afzal Guru was hanged, a leader of this district gave an impression that things have gone wrong, but I confronted him on the floor of the house and reminded him of his role in the execution of
Maqbool Bhat,” Lone said.

“Let me remind Muzaffer Baeigh that when then Peoples Conference Chairman of which we were the active members borrowed money and handed over to Beigh to plead Bhat’s case, what did he do?” asked Lone. While elaborating the narrative said, “It was Beigh’s reluctance and disinterest in the case that cost Maqbool Bhat his life.”

Lone while lauding the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that, Omar ensured that all the constituencies irrespective of their political affiliations get the equal benefit of the government
policies.
