National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah on Wednesday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of noted author, poet and literary scholar Maqbool Sahil who passed away in Srinagar on Tuesday, the Nc statement said.
Offering their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah highlighted Sahil’s vast and exemplary contributions in promoting Urdu and Pahari and said the vacuum left by his demise would be hard to fill, the statement added.
NC Chief Spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi and State Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu, Provincial Spokespersons Madan Mantoo and Imran Nabi Dar, Additional Spokespersons Sarah Hayat Shah and Surinder Singh Bunty have also expressed shock and grief over Sahil’s demise and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
