Dr. Khursheed Alam wani prominent Surgeon and head department of General and Minimal Access Surgery, SKIMS have been awarded fellowship at world’s prestigious institute of International College of Laparoscopic Surgeons.
Director SKIMS Dr. Showkat A. Zargar congratulated Prof. KhursheedAlam for being awarded the fellowship at prestigious Laparoscopic College andsaid his expertise in the said fieldwill be of great benefit to patients at SKIMS. SKIMS encourages its faculty and staff for advanced studies to gain access and knowledge on advanced procedures and such opportunities are important to remain abreast with latest / advanced techniques in the related fields, he added.
Dr. khursheedAlamwani did his MBBS from University of Kashmir in 1979& later did his post-graduation from SKIMS deemed University in 1987. He is also fellow of International College of Surgeons of India (FICS) and has many memberships to his credit which include Life Member of Association of Colon & Rectal Surgeons of India, Member Association of Surgical Oncology of India and Life Member Society of Endoscopic &Laparoscopic Surgeons of India.
Dr Khursheed is also currently working on critical topics of research such as Analysis of Hypernethylatin in Gastric Cancer and Metabolic Syndrome in Patients with Gallstone. His main areas of interest are Minimal Access Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery and Endocrine Surgery.
