In an measure to strengthen party among different sections of the society, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted a high level steering committee of the Kashmiri Pandits .

“This is to spread message of the party and educate the Kashmiri Pandits about revolutionary programmes and policies of PDP,” read the official statement.

National spokesman of the party, Dr Sameer Koul has been appointed as chairman of the Steering Committee while as Ramesh Koul and Ashok Bhat have been appointed as coordinators of the steering committee.

Speaking after his appointment as chairman, Dr Koul said that PDP was committed for the honourable return of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits to native places.

Reiterating stand of the PDP to fulfill wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society, he said that PDP was committed to create conducive atmosphere for the return of displaced Kashmiri Pandits to their native places.

He said that PDP is of the view that without Kashmiri Pandits, Kashmir is incomplete and their return is must to restore the aged old traditions and culture.

“It is need of the hour to strengthen PDP which is committed to restore peace in the state and agenda of party was formulated by incorporating wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society,” said Dr Koul.

Exhorting the newly appointed members of the steering committee to spread message of party among the community, he reiterated demand of the party of spiritual, political and economic empowerment of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community
