Reputed surgeon and national spokesperson of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) Dr Sameer Kaul has extended complete medical assistance to the victim of acid throwing incident that seriously injured her yesterday at Parray Pora. This was communicated to the victim and her family by the party president Mehbooba Mufti when she visited the young lady at the SMHS hospital on Thursday.
Expressing her anguish at the incident Mehbooba conveyed to the victim and her family her solidarity in this hour of pain. She hoped that the perpetrators of the dastardly crime are expeditiously brought to justice for appropriate punishment. While calling for strong administrative and legal measures to ensure safety of women in the state Mehbooba said the society also needed to introspect and restore the value system that used to hold women in high esteem.
The girl will be flying to New Delhi on Friday to receive restorative treatment through plastic surgery by Dr Shaheen Noor e Yazdan at the Appollo hospital. All expenses for the treatment will be met by Dr Kaul who is a senior Surgeon at the same hospital and has remained associated with a number of voluntary medical initiative in Kashmir.
