Director SKIMS & Ex-officio Secretary to Government, Dr Showkat A Zargar has been nominated member of Institute body, the highest decision making body of All India Institute Of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar. AIIMS, Bhubaneswar is one among the six newly set up AIIMS.
Dr. Zargar is a reputed gastroenterologist of the valley with vast experience and major contribution in the field of medicine and has many publications on critical subjects to his credit published in leading International and National journals. He is also member of Academic Council Of Rajasthan Medical University and Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences ( ILBS) New Delhi.
It is pertinent to mention that AIIMS ,Bhubaneswar constituted by Central Government consists members from various prestigious institutions of the country including parliament. The prominent members include Ghulam Nabi Azad, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Keshav Desiraju, Minsitry of Health and Family Welfare, Governemnt of India, Samir Brahmchari, Director General , Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and Secretary, Department of Scientific & Industrial Research and Jugal Kishore Mohapatra, Chief Secretary government of India.
Dr Zargar has expressed gratitude and hailed Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family welfare for his nomination. He said, “It is a matter of pride to get such opportunity and assured his positive contribution for the development and growth of the patient care activities and academic upliftment of the country’s renowned institute.
