Paying rich tributes to the 1990 martyrs of Kupwara and Handwara, Huriyat Conference (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sunday said their sacrifices were priceless asset of Kashmir struggle.

He said expressing complete solidarity towards the mission of martyrs, guarantees the success of Kashmiri nation.

The statement issued to KNS stated that asserting that military occupation laced with draconian powers cannot suppress the peoples movement, Mirwaiz said India should take realistic view of Kashmir dispute in the wake of changing global and political realities. He said that no peace can be established in south Asia without solving Kashmir issue in its proper political context.

Despite the policy of military repression, Mirwaiz said India could not weaken the freedom movement which is blossoming by each passing year.  He said that Indian can’t overlook the aspirations of Kashmiri people and the time has come that India should shun its intransigence policy and take serious steps to solve the Kashmir issue for once and all.

Meanwhile, hurriyat spokesman has sternly condemned the house arrest of senior Hurriyat leaders including Javaid Ahmad Mir, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Syed Salim geelani, and Anjuman-e-Sharien Shian spokesman Ghulam Mohammad (alias Madhosh Balhami)

Spokesman said India has violated all the democratic values by putting the entire urban and rural population in Kashmir under military siege to observe its republic day.  He said it was irony that the democratic and human rights of Kashmiris were being trampled to by India to observe its republic day.
