SRINAGAR: A manager of a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) guest house has been detained in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district on suspicion of spying for Pakistan, police said on Tuesday as per NDTV report.
The accused, Mahendra Prasad, hailing from Almora in Uttarakhand, was serving as the manager of the DRDO guest house located in the Chandan area of Jaisalmer. “He was detained on Monday. A joint interrogation is scheduled for today,” said Jaisalmer Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shivhare.
According to police, Prasad is suspected of passing on sensitive information related to strategic operations and activities in the region.
The DRDO frequently conducts missile and weapon tests at the Pokhran firing range in Jaisalmer. Experts and officials involved in these trials are known to stay at the guest house managed by Prasad.
