Driver dies after fuel tanker catches fire in south Kashmir

A driver was charred to death on Saturday after the fuel tanker he was driving caught fire in Islamabad district of south Kashmir.

According to reports, Hans Raj of Jhijjer Kotli, Udhampur district was driving a fuel tanker JK02N-4053 towards Srinagar when it caught fire on reaching Anantnag this afternoon, a police official told GNS. The flames engulfed the tanker and charred to death the driver. He was removed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

“The tanker also suffered some damage in the fire. Police is investigating the cause of fire,” the official added.
