The 23-year-old peddler, who is identified as son of Mohd Mushtaq Chowdhary, is a resident of Poonch’s Hamirpur village in Balakot block, Mendhar tehsil. Working under the garb of a cattle graze, Kasim had gone to the LoC, where he received the drug consignment from a Pakistani Administered Kashmir national.

The Army had a tip off about the exchange, so the alert troops challenged and apprehended the individual, the reports said.

An FIR has been lodged with Poonch Police. The Army and local police have conducted a thorough search in the area and further investigations are under progress.
