SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department has forecast generally dry weather in Jammu and Kashmir until April 25, with the possibility of afternoon thundershowers and hailstorm activity during this period.

In light of the forecast, the weather department has advised farmers to resume farm operations from today.

A meteorological department official said on Sunday that from April 21-25, generally dry weather is expected, with the possibility of afternoon thundershowers and isolated hailstorm activity.

From April 26-28, the official said, there is a possibility of generally cloudy weather with light to moderate rain and light snow over higher reaches, accompanied by thunder in most places.

From April 29-30, generally cloudy weather with light rain and thunder in many places has been predicted.

Regarding temperatures, the official reported that Srinagar recorded a minimum of 8.4°C, which was 0.5°C below normal for this time of the year. Qazigund recorded a minimum of 9.2°C, Pahalgam recorded a low of 2.9°C, Kokernag recorded a minimum of 8.3°C, Kupwara town recorded a low of 6.5°C, and Gulmarg recorded a low of 0.0°C.

In Jammu, the official said, the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.1°C, while Banihal recorded a low of 9.2°C, Batote 8.7°C, and Bhaderwah 7.7°C. (GNS)
