SRINAGAR: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has appointed district- and cluster-level nodal officers to strengthen the implementation of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) across the Kashmir Division in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
According to Order No. 273-DSEK of 2026, dated July 25, the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of all districts in the Kashmir Division have been designated as District Nodal Officers to oversee the implementation of ECCE.
The order further states that Principals of Higher Secondary Schools already designated as Cluster Heads will serve as mentors for Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) within their respective clusters. They will work under the direct supervision of the concerned District Nodal Officers in accordance with the provisions of NEP 2020.
To ensure regular monitoring, the District Nodal Officers have been directed to submit Monthly Progress Reports (MPRs) to the Joint Director (Elementary Education), who has been designated as the Divisional Nodal Officer.
The Directorate said the measure is aimed at ensuring a robust, structured and systematic implementation of Early Childhood Care and Education across the Kashmir Division as envisaged under the National Education Policy 2020.
