SRINAGAR: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has asked all the Chief Education Officers to strictly implement the recently announced curtailment schedule of virtual classes along with registering the complaints against erring private schools.
The circular issued comes a day after the Jammu and Kashmir Education Chamber hit out at the government for not consulting them before curtailing the timing of online calluses on LG Manoj Sinha’s directions following the viral video of a six-year-old girl.
“Whereas, the Administrative Department vide letter No: Edu-NC-SE/20/2021-05 dated: 01-06-2021 has issued guidelines regarding the conduct of virtual classes in JK UT during lockdown period of COVID-19 pandemic for session viz 2020-21; and Whereas, this office subsequently forwarded the instructions of Adm. Department to all Chief Education Officers for strict adherence of guidelines by concerned authorities & HOI’s of (Govt. + Pvt.) Schools under endorsement No: DSEK/GS/54/Mise/2020 dated: 04/06/2021,” the circular issued by DSEK reads.
“In view of the above, the concerned Chief Education Officers are once again instructed to ensure implementation/strict adherence of the orders issued from time to time in letter and spirit and also get the complaints, lodged against the Private schools, redressed in the Special Cells constituted for redressal of grievances of the complainant in a time-bound manner. The action taken report be shared with this Directorate on weekly basis on priority through email ID: [email protected] or landline No: 0194-2473590,” the circular reads further.
