SRINAGAR: Ahead of the reopening of schools, the Education Department on Saturday directed school heads to ensure that the premises are neat and clean and have a festive outlook.
The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), in a circular, said that schools will reopen on March 1 after winter vacations, which should be celebrated as a welcome event.
DSEK advised school heads to create a festive ambience for the reopening to attract students and foster a conducive learning environment.
“The heads shall ensure mobilisation, including the preparation of the Institutional Plan and timetable, as well as sanitation, well in advance,” the circular reads.
DSEK further said that school heads shall be responsible for ensuring that all requisite arrangements are in place before reopening. Minor repairs and retrofitting, if required, related to drinking water, electricity, toilets, window panes, etc., should be completed well in advance.
“The heads shall ensure that the biometric JK Attendance Portal is functional and updated as per the current staff in position,” DSEK said.
It also emphasised that school premises must be kept neat and clean and have a festive outlook.
“The complex and cluster heads shall hold sensitisation sessions with their respective cluster schools to ensure preparedness for the reopening in light of these instructions,” DSEK added. (KNO)
