Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) today started ‘Read Kashmir Library’ programme in all the 10 districts of the valley.

The programme is being conducted by Pratham Education Foundation (PEF) in collaboration with Directorate of School Education Kashmir. Joint Director (EE), DSEK, Mehboob Hussian, Friday inaugurated the programme at Government Primary School Mirpora Gund Hasi Bhat.

The initiative is intended to enable out of school children and students studying in government and private schools of elementary level to learn things related with reading, writing, listening and speaking through activity based learning.

According to a statement of DSEK, the ‘Read Kashmir Library’ programme shall continue till the end of winter vacations for which PEF has engaged 2000 unpaid educational volunteers, who shall deliver their services in 450 village communities.
