More than 3 dozen civilians were injured on Tuesday in clashes following the killing of two militants, including top LeT commander Abu Dujana, in a gunfight with forces in Pulwama district of southern Kashmir.

Sources in health department said that forty persons were being treated for injuries at various hospitals in Pulwama district.

He said that the injured were being treated at District Hospital Pulwama, PHC Kakapora, PHC New Khanda, PHC Newa and Sub-district hospital Pampore.

 

Earlier, a civilian was killed after forces opened fire on protesters near the encounter site at Hakripora village of the district.

Medical Superintendent District Hospital Pulwama, Dr Abdul Rashid Parra said that a youth Firdous Ahmad of Begumbagh, Kakapora was brought dead to the hospital.

“He was hit by a bullet on his chest,” Medical Superintendent said.
