Forces Friday night allegedly ransacked a house in Khag Tehsil of Budgam district and thrashed the family members, sources said.

They said that the army men attacked the house of Assadullah Khan in Habber village shortly before midnight.

“At 9:30 pm we observed some suspicious movement of some persons in our lawns. As we came out we saw dozens of army men. They escaped to nearby fields after they saw us,” the family members said.

They said that army men returned around 11:45 pm and started banging our doors and windows. “They barged inside and beat us ruthlessly with gun barrels and injured six of our family members,” they added.

SSP Budagm Tejinder Singh told Kashmir Life that army had gone to conduct search in the area as they had inputs about the presences of militants but family members mistook the army men as braid choppers and made noise.

“After receving the inputs about the presence of militants army cordoned the house of Khan but the members mistook the army as braid choppers. They shouted and army tried to make them silent and thrashed them,” SSP said. He added that two persons have got minor injures.
