Organised by the Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Smriti, the festival marked the triumph of good over evil, bringing together communities from across the region to witness the burning of effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhkaran.

The event drew large crowds, including dignitaries, government officials, and local administration officers. People from all walks of life gathered to witness the effigies’ burning, symbolising the triumph of righteousness.

Building on the success of last year’s Dussehra, this year’s festival further strengthened the message of communal harmony.

The organisers extended thanks to the local administration, police force, and sports association for their efforts in ensuring the smooth and secure execution of the event. “Their cooperation and support were key to making this year’s Vijay Dashmi celebration a success. The assistance provided in managing logistics and public safety, allowed the event to conclude in an orderly manner,” they said in a statement.

The Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Smriti extended its gratitude to Puneet Balan and the Puneet Balan Group for their support in making this event a success for the second consecutive year. “Mr Balan’s contributions, including providing logistical support and arranging the effigies, have been crucial to the event’s success and growth. The Sangarsh Smriti is thankful for his role in fostering cultural celebration and standing by the community.”

The statement further reads that Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Smriti is committed to continuing the celebration of Dussehra in Srinagar, keeping alive the spirit of togetherness and cultural reverence in the Valley.
