Ailing separatist leader and chairman of his faction of Hurriyat Syed Ali Geelani Sunday paid tributes to two militants killed in a gunfight in Amargarh Sopore.

In a statement issued to media, Geelani said that the youth have put a huge responsibility on leadership. “These youths are putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders. We are duty bound to carry their mission to its logical end.”

Blaming India for continuous bloodshed in state, Geelani said that “we are peace loving nation and rigid, stubborn attitude of India is the root cause of all problems.”

He further said that “those who strive for a scared cause, never die however achieve an eternal life and find place in history. They are sacrificing their lives for our future and their sacrifices won’t go waste or unnoticed.”

“India with its military might is pushing youth to wall and it is the reason that youth who are daring to challenge while laying their lives are writing new annals of history,” he added.

In his message, Geelani urged Indian authorities to desist from their rigid and stubborn approach. He asked Indian authorities to stop from creating hurdles and urged to resolve Kashmir issue through peaceful means. “It will prove a positive step for India as well as people of Jammu & Kashmir. People of state are not war mongers, but through peaceful means urging India and world community to fulfill their pledge & resolve the political future of state. People of state don’t nurture any animosity against people of India and however are striving for their birth right,” he said.

Geelani further  condemned the arrests of youth in Spore and said that after the two youth were slain in an encounter, police arrested Mohammad Syed Magrey, Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Maqbool Sheikh & Amir Rather (Trach Kandi) Junaid Wani and Ishfaq Sheikh (Nat Noosa). Referring to police highhandedness, while terming it worst type of state terrorism,  Geelani said there is no justification for these detentions.
