Six shops were damaged in a blaze on Thursday early morning in Machikrand village of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official from Fire and Emergency Services said that fire was broke out in one of the shops in Machikrand village of Uri in the wee hours of Thursday, resulting in damages to six shops.
He said prompt action by firemen saved the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. However, the cause of the fire is yet to ascertained, the official said.
“Property worth around lakhs was destroyed in the fire,” he added.
Police have registered a case in this regard.
