The NCS said the quake had its epicentre located at latitude 33.10°N and longitude 76.18°E, with a shallow depth of 5 kilometres beneath the surface. The relatively low magnitude meant that the tremor was mild, but it was felt in several parts of Doda and adjoining areas.

“EQ of M: 3.6, On: 06/10/2025 02:47:08 IST, Lat: 33.10 N, Long: 76.18 E, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Doda, Jammu Kashmir,” the NCS posted on X.

Officials confirmed that no structural damage or injuries had been reported from any part of the district following the tremor. Earthquakes are not uncommon in the region, which falls under Seismic Zone IV, considered a high-damage risk zone.

Authorities have advised locals to remain calm but alert, as aftershocks, though unlikely in such low-intensity quakes, cannot be entirely ruled out.
