SRINAGAR: Strong tremors jolted Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night as an earthquake of magnitude 6.6 struck the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan.
The earthquake struck at 10:17 PM at a depth of 156 km from the surface. Its coordinates are latitude 36.09 degrees and longitude 71.39 degrees, the officials said.

They said that the epicenter was Hindu Kush region in Afganistan.
However, there were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property due to the earthquake.
Reports said that telecommunication services are down in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
