SRINAGAR: SRO Kashmir, a voluntary charity that has been working in the health sector and managing part of the underprivileged has announced that they will be receiving the hides of the animals at three spots in uptown Srinagar.

“Don’t dispose off animal hides into drains, rivers, garbage dumps, open fields, and on the roads,” Afaaq Syed of the group. “Handover the sacrificial sheep and goat hide to our volunteers. They will be available for you at some select places from 9 AM tomorrow.”

The group will not be coming to you for the hides. Instead, you will have to take the hides and hand them over to them at the three spots.

The spots that the group has identified include Tengpora bypass, Moominabad, near the court complex and Lal Munadi, near al-Umar Mosque. The volunteers will be on the three spots for two days from 9 am to 5 pm.

“This is not an additional resource mobilisation,” Syed said. “This is solely aimed at preventing the fragile ecology.”
