SRINAGAR: Ali Mohammad Shah, a retired engineer, passed away last night. He was around 75.
Shah, an elder brother of editor Uqaab, Manzoor Unjum, was an engineer with the Public Works Department (PWD) and was living in Brain Nishat after his retirement.
Shah was unwell for last three weeks and breathed his last in the hospital around 12 am last night.
Shah is survived by two sons. His elder son Dr Khalid Shah is a noted Kashmiri medical scientist who is working on a cancer-related project.
Shah’s younger son Raashid is working with a computer company in the Netherlands.
Both his sons reached home Wednesday morning, family sources said. Shah is being laid to rest around soon.
Family sources said as per Shah’s wishes, the death will be mourned for three days followed by Fateh Khwani on Friday after the Zuhar prayers are over.
