SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said that it busted an Illegal liquor operation by arresting eight people in Anantnag district of south Kashmir.
“In a significant operation, Police in Anantnag successfully dismantled a major illicit liquor production unit,” a police spokesperson said, adding that during a routine inspection at Brick Kiln ‘Jan Thajiwara’, owned by Tanveer Ahmad, Police seized a substantial quantity of country-made liquor and equipment used for its production.
“In addition to the seized liquor, Police apprehended eight individuals and recovered ₹13,600, which is believed to be proceeds from the sale of the illegal liquor,” the police said.
“A case has been registered under relevant sections of law and investigation is in progress to uncover further details and connections related to this illicit operation,” it said.
