Srinagar:

At least eight people lost their lives when a jeep they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge in a mountainous area of Pakistan Administered Kashmir, Pakistan Media reported.

According to police and rescue officials, the incident occurred near Mansehra town where a jeep carrying at least 25 passengers went out of driver’s control and fell into ravine.

Reports said the jeep met the accident while negotiating a dangerous curve on a narrow hilly road. “The accident took place when the vehicle veered off the slippery road,” an official said.

He said eight people died on the spot while 16 others critically injured. They were rushed to district hospital of Mansehra.
