SRINAGAR: An octogenarian woman passed away after being struck by an unidentified vehicle in the Delina area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday, officials said.
The victim, identified as Shameema Begum, widow of Lal Din Mangral and a resident of Rawathpora Delina, sustained heavy injuries in the collision.
She was transported to GMC Baramulla hospital for medical attention and was quickly referred to Srinagar for further treatment but succumbed to her injuries.
In response to this incident, a case has been registered under FIR No. 204/2023 U/S 279, 337 of the Indian Penal Code at P/S Baramulla, and an investigation is currently underway. (KS)
