SRINAGAR

As the Lok Sabha election process in Jammu and Kashmir is over, the tension is now not seen on the Kashmir streets but it has shifted to the Gupkaar area in the residences of PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and NC Presidents Dr Farooq.

Sources told Kashmir Life, the leadership of both the parties is busy making analysis by doing plus minus of votes.

“The leaders are not sure about their performance because varied information comes from the ground so these leaders are thinking with crossed fingers,” a political commentator said adding, “somehow the common people went away from the tense days but the situation is continuously very tense for the two regional parties PDP and NC.”

Hundreds of youth were arrested before polls started in Kashmir and all the front line separatist leaders are still in different police stations.

The polling days witnessed the death of a Polling official from Shopian, Zia ul Haq, a  Nawa Kadal youth Bashir Ahmad Bhat, two Panchs, a Lambardar and his son and the injuries to at least one hundred protesters across Kashmir.

Now when the political fate of Dr Farooq, Sharif-ul-din Shariq and Dr Mehboob Baig of NC, Mehbooba Mufti, Tariq Hamid Karra and Muzaffar Hussain Baig of PDP is closed in the EVMs, all eyes are on May 16, when their result will be out and some of them will have jubilant movements and of course an employment for next six years.
