At polling booth number 9 & 10 in Srinagar’s SP College, approximately around 50 votes have been polled as this report is being filed.

Talking to Kashmir Life,  voters from nearby Chunt Kule and Chinar Bagh said that “we have compulsion to cast vote. Nobody has come to our help as we lost everything in recent devastating fire.”

“We hope this way we can receive some help,” an old man said and added that “we know it is wrong and injustice, but we are helpless.”

The voters come in Sumo or other vehicles as the area is waterlogged.

The voting started at 7am and will end at 5 pm. The tight security measures have been put in place.
