General Observer for Rajpora, Pulwama Assembly Segments of Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency(PC) Sajad Zaman Hazarika and General Observer for Pampore and Tral Assembly Segments of the same PC Vinit Nandawar along with District Election Officer, Pulwama Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah today reviewed overall arrangements for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the district.
Senior Civil and police officers including SSP Pulwama, Awantipora, ADCs Pulwama, Tral, Awantipora, AROs, Nodal Officers, Dy DEO and other concerned attended the meeting.
The DEO Pulwama, through power point presentation, briefed the observers about the poll preparedness being put in place in the district to ensure the conduct of elections in a free and fair manner.
He informed about measures taken for effective implementation of Model code of conduct, SVEEP activities, EVM/ VVPAT Awareness, provision of Assured Minimum Facilities at polling stations, Special Electoral Camps for PwDs, FLC and randomization status, Web Casting, 1950, c- Vigil, Election expenditure monitoring etc.
The DEO said that special care is being taken to implement the latest statutory guidelines of Election Commission of India in letter and spirit. He also apprised them about the special arrangements made in making the elections Accessible.
The Observers expressed satisfaction over the preparations mad in the district for the conduct of free and fair Lok Sabha polls. They also interacted with the AROs and Nodal Officers and shared their experiences about the poll process.
Meanwhile, the district election authority has appealed the people to approach it with the issues and grievances related to the elections.
