Elections to four Rajya Sabha seats for Jammu and Kashmir, the terms of which are set to expire next month, will be held on February 7, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced Tuesday, reports said.

The four members whose terms are expiring are Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Saif-ud-Din Soz (February 10) and National Conference (NC) leaders Ghulam Nabi Wani aka Ratanpuri and Mohammad Shafi (February 15).

The reports, according to a notification issued by the EC, said that the polls in this regard will be held on February 7 and the counting of votes will be held on the same day.

Pertinently, a member of the Rajya Sabha has a six-year term while a Lok Sabha member has a five-year term.
