Employees of the Urban local bodies of Kashmir on Thursday held a protest demonstration outside press enclave Srinagar seeking regularization and transfer of Director of Urban Bodies.

Scores of the protestors assembled outside press colony shouting anti-governmental slogans.

The protestors while protesting demanded the regularization of daily wagers working under Urban Local Bodies and release of the pending wages.

“We are working in the corporation for the last 14 years on meagre wages. We have been requesting for regularization but the government has not paid any heed so far”, said a protestor.

The protestors also demanded the transfer of the concerned Director, adding that they should be regularised under the SRO 520, so that their suffering should end soon.

Despite working round the clock our services were never acknowledged by the government,” said another protestor.

We even approached the chief minister, but there were no initiatives taken by the government till now, he added.

The employees also said that if their genuine are not addressed soon they will hit the streets again to protest against the government.
