SRINAGAR
An attempt of government employees to held a protest march up to the Civil Secretariat was foiled by police on Monday, in Lal Chowk.
The employees including their leaders assembled near Khalsa School and tried to march towards Civil Secretariat. However, a huge contingent of police appeared on the spot and used water canons to disperse them. Police also arrested many employee leaders.
Government employees have been accusing the state government of backtracking from its promise of fulfilling their pending demands.
