SRINAGAR: Within minutes after an encounter broke out in Nechama Rajwar area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara, one militant was killed, police said.

An official said that one militants has been killed in the encounter at Nechama Rajwar area in Handwara.
He said that the gunfight broke out in Nechama Rajwar area in Handwara on Saturday early morning following a search operation.
This is the second encounter in last 12 hours. Earlier in the morning, two militants were killed in the encounter between the counter insurgents and the militants in Chewaklan village of Pulwama. In the Handwara encounter, police said they have killed one militant and the searches are going on.
