SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out between militants and security forces at Parigam village of Newa hamlet in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday, officials said.
An official said that a combined team of Police, Army, and CRPF initiated a search operation based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the vicinity.

Upon nearing the suspected location, the militants opened fire on the security team, provoking an encounter.
According to sources, it is believed that two to three terrorists are currently trapped in the area.
