SRINAGAR: An encounter between started on Thursday morning in the Bihibagh-Kadder area of Kulgam district, South Kashmir.
According to sources, four to five militants are believed to be trapped. Police and security forces have jointly cordoned off the area.
Security forces launched a cordon and Search Operation on Wednesday night after receiving information about presence of militants in the area. When they approached the spot, the suspected militants fired upon them starting the encounter.
A tweet by the Kashmir Zone Police confirmed the development. The tweet reads, “Encounter has started at Kadder area of Kulgam district. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”
