SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out between militants and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the police at Kamadh Nullah in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
A senior police officer said security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific inputs about the presence of militants.
He said an exchange of fire took place after the militants opened fire on the security personnel.
