Chenigam encounter in Kulgam forced a brother to cancel the wedding of his sister as he reportedly lost all his savings in the midst of gun-fight between militants and government forces.
“The marriage of my sister Firdousa Banoo was due on November 15 (Saturday). We cancelled it as unknown persons decamped with cash from my house when gun-fight was going on in the area,” Bashir Ahmed Dar told CNS adding that Rs one lakh fifty-seven thousand were stolen from the cupboard of his house.
“I don’t blame army or CRPF for the burglary but one thing is sure that when fierce gun-fight was going on, only government forces and militants were present in and around my house,” Dar said adding that he had set apart that money for marriage purpose.
Pertinently, two local militants were killed in Chennigam Kulgam in an encounter on Friday.
