An encounter is currently underway between suspected militants and forces in the forest area of Kupwara district in North Kashmir.
Reports said that exchange of fire started last late night in Rajwar forests around Bawan-Watsar area.
In the firing from the two sides, an Army man is seriously injured and has been airlifted out of the site of encounter for immediate treatment.
Unconfirmed reports said that the injured has succumbed to his injuries.
The army man belongs to 21 RR and was killed “after he fell into gorge near encounter site”.
While the last reports came in, firing had stopped but intense search operation is going on in the area.
Kashmir Life independently could not confirm the news of death of the army man.
