SRINAGAR
A militant was killed in an encounter between militants and forces in a forest in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, police said.
The encounter started last evening when forces, acting on a specific information, launched a search operation to flush out militants in Mouldari, forest area of Handwara, 80 kms from here, the police said.
An unidentified militant was killed in exchange of gun fire this morning, they said. Police added that the operation is going on and 6 RR and 92 Battalion of CRPF personnel are on job.
