SRINAGAR
An encounter between suspected militants and forces broke out Tuesday in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports said that on specific information about the presence of three militants in a village of Wadar area in Handwara, a joint team of police and Army launched a search operation during the night.
Sources said the suspected militants fired upon the search party resulting in an encounter which was going on when the reports last came in.
