NN Vohra, Governor, had a meeting with the Administrative Secretaries of all the State Government departments at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, Saturday and exhorted Secretaries to ensure good governance, an official statement said.

“The Governor asked the Secretaries to take effective steps to ensure that the functionaries of the departments and agencies under their charge attend office punctually and work with due devotion. He also stressed the importance of ensuring efficient and honest functioning of the various public service delivery organizations and timely redressal of public complaints and grievances,” the statement said.

The Governor called upon all the Secretaries to clear all pending cases and asked the Chief Secretary to send him all the cases which relate to policy or significant decisions. He urged them to take all necessary steps to achieve the objectives of good and responsive governance in the State, at all levels of functioning, the statement said.

Meanwhile, DG Police and other senior Secretaries briefed Governor in Jammu.

The statement said that K. Rajendra Kumar, Director General of Police, J&K, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, at the Civil Secretariat.

“The Governor reviewed the internal security situation in the state with Kumar and urged him to ensure effective maintenance of internal security in the State,” the statement said.

The Governor also held separate discussions with Mr. B.R. Sharma, Principal Secretary, Planning and Development and B.B. Vyas, Principal Secretary, Finance and reviewed all major issues relating to the current Annual Plan, formulation of the Annual Plan 2015-16, budgetary issues, payment of wages to casual employees and other matter relating to fiscal management, it added.
